BEN TZEEL

Founder, Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Hi, I’m Ben, registered dietitian, strength coach, and T1D vet of over 20 years who specializes in providing you with the blueprint to amazing blood sugars...

So you can eat the foods you love, do the things you love, and live life on YOUR terms, NOT diabetes' terms.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of using my professional and personal experiences to help thousands of people with diabetes to improve their A1cs, transform their bodies, and feel FREE again. My team and I are here to show you (and your loved ones) how to find what works most effectively for YOU, so you can sustain these results in the short term, but also for life.

KYRA PUGH

Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer

Hi there! I’m Kyra, Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer. I was diagnosed with T1D at age 11, which ultimately drove my passion for nutrition, fitness and overall health. We all know the T1D journey is a rollercoaster, and I’ve had my fair share of difficulties managing this crazy life - especially when it comes to diet culture, body image, burnout, and complications. I love having relatability to other T1D’s, and helping them overcome these obstacles to FEEL and BE their BEST!

I found out at an early age that different foods made me feel a certain way, and of course, made my blood sugars feel a certain way too. As I experimented with all kinds of diets and exercise, I eventually found what works for me, and I am here to help others do the same!

Living in the PNW, and country girl at heart, you’ll find me outside (with the pup), snow or sun. I truly enjoy all forms of exercise, and also love a quiet night by the fire with something good in my cup!

AMARISSA HANDY

Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist

Hi guys! I’m Amarissa, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I’ve been living with T1D for over 15 years since I was a kid experiencing the highs and lows of it all. Since that first day of diabetes I’ve had a special interest in activity and nutrition as a way to manage overall health and T1D. I never stopped to consider if T1D would hold me back from anything but rather, I jumped in head first and figured out how I could make things work for me along the way. I was never told I couldn’t do things because I never asked nor would I have listened. I only asked HOW I could do it.

I aim to find what works for everyone individually so we can all live fearless lives with T1D; to balance activity, nutrition, diabetes, and lifestyle. Yes, we can have it all with T1D and I’m here to help with the journey!

In my free time I love exploring the Arizona desert inside and out from the mountains to the vibrant food. I travel the nation competing in the Highland Games in my trusty kilt. On top of it all, I care for a menagerie of animals in my home and love nothing more than to end my day cooking fresh food and playing with them.

BRIDGET WOOD

Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian, and Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist

Hey y’all! My name is Bridget Wood, and I’ve been living with type 1 diabetes for over 15 years (and counting!). I became a registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified diabetes care and education specialist to help people just like us…because nobody gets it quite like we do!

I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be to access the care we need. I’ve worked in hospitals, clinics, and diabetes companies, and no matter the setting, there’s a clear gap in resources and support for people like us. That’s why my first love will always be helping others thrive in their diabetes management, one bite at a time!

I’m a self-proclaimed foodie, dog mom, and proud wife to the best diabetes-support partner out there. I’m also a Bravo superfan — if I’m not watching the latest episode of Real Housewives with my favorite snack, you’ll probably find me out on the trails, soaking up the great outdoors. I’m so excited to work with each of you and achieve amazing things together!

MADI CHEEVER

Registered Dietitian, Certified Health Education Specialist, and
Master of Public Health

Hi everyone! My name is Madi, and I am a registered dietitian with a passion for people, diabetes, and wellness! I was diagnosed with T1D for over a decade now, which has fueled my desire to help others on their health journey.

I started to experiment with nutrition in high school due to a curiosity about how macronutrients affect my blood glucose. So, I entered a healthy lifestyle competition and hopped on the CGM train; woohoo! It was a wonderful learning experience. I lowered my A1c significantly, started to understand how food affects my body, and gained confidence in my ability to manage diabetes. Instead of viewing diabetes as a burden, it became a source of inspiration and opportunity! Diabetes has been a focus throughout my academic and professional careers, and I truly believe everyone can manage their diabetes with the right tools, knowledge, and support.

When I am not working, you can find me listening to a podcast, enjoying time in the kitchen, or staying active! My favorite ways to get moving include lifting heavy things at the gym and dancing, especially American ballroom, Latin dance styles, and line dancing.
